OUR STORY
Welcome to our farm. My name is Elaine McCarthy. I grew up on a dairy farm in northern NY, where, being the last of nine children, I learned the value of hard work and family.

My husband, Doug McCarthy, grew up in Chicago, the son of a doctor and a stay at the home mom. Growing up, Doug spent a lot of time in the the kitchen learning to cook Polish dishes with his mom. It was here that he discovered his passion for cooking. Our guests will experience Doug's talent for creating wholesome, farm fresh breakfasts.

What attracted Doug and I to the Charlton Farm was the more simplistic life style and family togetherness. I was especially drawn to our spacious front porch where I can enjoy the nostalgia of a bygone era.
It's our vision to share with others the enjoyment, the simplicity and the serenity that comes with the open land. Relaxing in a rocking chair on our front porch, you will experience a healing touch while listening to the soothing voices of nature: the songs of birds, the chirping of crickets, the rustling of wind through the leaves, etc. You may even spot a herd of deer grazing or an occasional curious fox coming out of hiding.
Charlton Farm is a place where you can come and unplug from the stressors of life, bask in the sunshine and fresh air, and embrace the 1800s feel of home.
My husband and I stayed at Charlton Farm last August and were delighted with our spacious room, bounteous breakfasts, and cheerful hosts. They welcomed us like old friends and made ever effort to accommodate us. We wanted for nothing, except wanting to stay a few more days. Our travel plans, however, did not allow that. We highly recommend Charlton Farm to anyone visiting western New York. Thank you, Elaine and Doug
The Charlton Farm sits on 30 acres of land which we were free to roam and explore. I stayed a few nights b/c I attended a wedding right there on the grounds. The property is beautiful with its long driveway lined with trees. The house and bedrooms are fashioned in the traditional farm house wallpaper/furniture, etc. I enjoyed my stay and can’t wait to go back! The alpacas and sheep are adorable!
The Charlton Farm is an old farm style B&B with a few animals such as alpacas, sheep and some hens. It sits on 30 acres of land and while I was there I was free to roam the property! Tons and tons of black caps! I stayed a couple nights and attended a wedding on the property! It was so beautiful! I was given a gift certificate for a weekend stay and can’t wait to go back!
